Abstract

This project is designed and implemented an industrial application for quality control of the label in metal containers. The application integrates an industrial robot Gryphon, a vision system and a transportation system with band. It performs the position control algorithm for robot using walli3 software. The vision system consists of a color camera and image processing to identify defects in metal containers label using the OpenCV libraries. The application developed has great performance and will make known to the region industry the potential of the industrial robotic as an alternative in the automation of its process.

Abstract

Over the last years the cost increase, limited reserves, and adverse environmental impact of fossil fuels, and the governmental incentives have made that the wind energy to be one of the fastest growing renewable energy sources. In this context, this paper presents a brief explanation theoretical about modeling and operation characteristics of the main Induction Generators (IG) used in wind generators. It is presenting a theoretical study of Squirrel-Cage IG, Self-Excited IG and Doubly Fed IG.

Abstract

Ferroresonance is a phenomenon usually initiated by transients in power networks resulting from e.g. switching operations or ground faults. Non linear behavior of the core of an inductive voltage Transformer results in magnetic saturation. In this context, this paper presents the numerical simulation developed with ATP/EMTP software on the ferroresonance phenomenon in inductive voltage transformer to metrological use. The analyzed results arise from the interaction between the applied voltage transformer and the shunt capacitance of the switch. The results show the influence of these variables on the phenomenon of ferroresonance.

Abstract  Constant switching occur in transformers due to imbalances between power generation and load served. This fact generates a magnetizing transient current on the transformer called “inrush current” resulting in numerous problems. Thus, this paper addresses the basictheoretical study of inrush currents and shows its influence in the transformer protection systems. Moreover, it also presented a list of major works that address this transient phenomenon.
